Excursions
Lobster Tours
Join us for our 1-1/2 hour and 2-1/2 hour lobster tours. The 1-1/2 hour tour gives the opportunity to explore the Wells beach area. Including scenery from Drakes Island to Moody Point. The crew will explain the seal, sea bird, and lobster habitat surrounding Wells Harbor, as well as haul lobster pots on our Real Maine lobster boat. Once we have gear on the tail for you to investigate we will explain the parts of a lobster trap, and life cycle and anatomy of a lobster. The 2-1/2 hour trip includes everything that our 1-1/2 hour trip does and we will venture further along the coast. These trips go from Wells Harbor to Goat Island Light in Cape Porpoise, or to the south we extend we tour Cape Neddick.
Mackerel and Sight Seeing Trips
Mackerel trips allow you to experience all of the sightseeing and experiences of being on the water as well as the opportunity to catch mackerel and other small bait fish. (A maximum of 9 active fishermen at one time.)
Funeral and Scattering at Sea
We offer committal services for cremated remains. During these special trips the family has the opportunity to choose from a book of poems and prayers to be read as the remains of you loved one are carefully placed or scattered in serenity of the Atlantic Ocean. We will provide flower petals to be placed along with the urn or loose scattering that you choose. We will also provide you with the exact GPS coordinates of where loved one will eternally rest. (This excursion requires that the entire boat be chartered by the customer.)
Excursion Pricing
- 1-1/2 hour trips are: $40 per person or $500 to charter the entire boat.
- 2-1/2 hour trips are. $55 per person or $660 to charter the boat.
- The Lydia J can accommodate 12 passengers on any given trip.
Inshore Fishing
The Lydia J offers four hour, inshore fishing excursions, targeting striped bass and blue fish. We are the only boat offering trips for 6-12 people on one boat. There is a maximum of 9 fisherman, but passengers wishing to join the trip and enjoy the boat ride are welcome. These excursions are perfect for multigenerational groups as well as bachelor and bachelorette parties. We will be running trips for individuals to participate as singles as well.
Pricing for four hour trips: $100 per passenger with a minimum of six passengers.
